My inspirations (aka, stuff I just love)
These are the companies that whenever I see an email from them, I immediately sprint to their website to see what new, glorious offerings they have. You know, to see what I can buy with the money that I'm NOT earning from doing graphic design any longer. It's a difficult situation to have so many glorious things being offered but not having an equally glorious checking account balance to buy ALL the things.
Seriously overpriced metal goods but they're just so dang unique. My kids know I love my Stray Dog lamps more than I love them, and I constantly remind them that when I'm gone, they'll be fighting each other to get these lamps because they will remind them so much of me!
Their classic black & white Courtly Check has my heart (and my wallet) and is in nearly every room of my house.
You all know Rifle Paper, right? I have a meeeeellion Rifle Paper graphics, scans, folders, organizers, pretty much everything they make - in my house. And SOON, I MUST have one of their headboards in my home!
A glorious Swedish company that makes the most colorful, whimsical clothes! Now, I personally do not wear colorful, whimsical clothes - I'm more of an all-black simple fashionista - BUT they also carry lots of home goods that you bet your bottom I DO love!
She is the most influential interior designer to me, but alas, retired herself (I don't mean she's dead, but when I wasn't able to trip up to her glorious Connecticut store any longer she might as well have been dead to me! I'm still not over this, people!) and her incredible designs about 12 years ago. Never fear, though! She did leave behind 4 beautiful books. And I'm getting every bit of life I can from the dozens of rugs, pillows & fabrics that I frantically purchased when her shop closed.
Her website is still up - go ahead, click on it. And be prepared to bawl when you see everything you can't buy. Devastating!
This is a local-to-me boutique shop in Syracuse that specializes in hand-painted goods in the style of Mackenzie Childs, and the shop owners are just the sweetest. Unfortunately, unless you live in CNY, none of this knowledge of this cute little shop will do you any good since they don't ship. Sorry!
